Bat Grip is a product that improves the grip on a bat. It has been made in three different thicknesses, 0,5 mm, 1,1 mm and 1,8 mm for Lizard Skins. Vulcan uses the sizes 0,5 mm, 1,0 mm and 1,75 mm.
At first Lizard Skins and Vulcan started with the sizes 1.1mm, 1.8mm, 1.0 mm and 1.75mm. The 1.1mm and 1.0mm thickness is the standard thickness which tends to be suited for middle school to high school aged kids who are ready to switch from an alloy/composite bat to a wooden bat.
The 1.75mm and 1.8mm is the heavy thickness which is what most youth and Little Leagues players prefer. This thickness is recommended for the beginning players as it helps with shock absorption at contact of the ball and bat.
After further testing a key group of MLB players, they discovered that these players preferred an even thinner grip that wouldn’t lose gripping properties the thicker sizes had. The 0,5 mm tape for the bat handle was created to meet the high-performance demands of world’s most competitive athletes. Even though it is a thin grip, it still gives the tacky feel with extreme comfort. This thickness is recommended for players who don’t use pine tar on their bats.
We provide all of the sizes mentioned above in different colors like bright red, optic green and optic orange. As well as patterns like splatters, camo or uncommon patterns like money bills and apocalypse. You can also go for a logo of your favorite club to support them during your games.
