About Louisville Slugger
Baseball is called America's National Pastime, and Louisville Slugger is the name of the most famous and popular wooden bat employed by professional ballplayers to smash singles, bash doubles, belt triples, and pound home runs in a ballpark.
The roots of the Louisville Slugger date to 1884 and involve John A. "Bud" Hillerich (1866–1946). Hillerich's father operated a woodworking shop that produced bedposts, bowling pins, handrails, and ornaments.
Rooted in history and tradition, Louisville Slugger will continue to grow and evolve. Recently, the company has gone far beyond bats, piloting innovations in performance technology by creating equipment ranging from batting gloves and helmets to training aids and accessories for players.
Aluminium and composite bats
The bats from Louisville Slugger are crafted year in and year out for optimized performance and a solid feel. They have a very light swing and a trusted alloy sound. The bats features a revolutionary patent pending cantilevered gapped barrel design that maximizes performance and expands the sweet spot of the bat. Furthermore Louisville Slugger can customize a lot of equipment, for example a couple of performance baseball bats, a couple of fastpitch bats, wooden bats and a lot of clothing and apparel.
The team of Louisville Slugger has applied its extensive wood bat knowledge to develop a product that, from knob to cup, is unmatched. These bats are also created specifically to curb breakage and maintain hardness on contact. To give these bats an unparalleled look and feel, the bats are coated with EXOPRO finish, which creates a beautiful mirror-like appearance and unmatched level of hardness
Louisville Slugger has wheeled backs and backpacks for young and old. These bags are available in a lot of different colours. A zippered wheeled bat compartment comfortably fits four bats and the main compartment houses a helmet, gear and a glove. The backpacks come with two bat sleeves, a main compartment for gear and foam padded shoulder straps for taking the game on the road.
